Good morning from Team 2. We have completed our first week in Lungujja, it has whizzed by! The team made solar cookers from cardboard and foil and successfully cooked rice in them. The P7 girls were well on their way with sewing sanitary towels, we also have all our P7 girls bras that we took out and did not a bad fitting job by improvising with string and a broken ruler. for measuring! they were all very excited. We had a meeting with parents and about 50 mums with babies and gave out baby clothes and shawls and told the parents what we were doing in school.
The team is all well and there were tears when we left school yesterday evening. We were being hugged so much and given letters of thanks from the children. Today we are off into Kampala for the craft market, pizza and swimming, then Team 2 is teaching Sunday school at 8am tomorrow morning, meaning an early start!
PS The team have successfully washed their own underwear and socks! It was a source of great hilarity to Gladys and I! The girls and one of the boys knew what they were doing but the others absolutely no idea!
